Guy Harries
counselling and psychotherapy
Therapy for the complex, the creative and the human.
Have you been adapting yourself for so long that you've lost touch with who you actually are, what you want, what you feel, what you need? Perhaps you keep repeating the same relationship patterns, or you're in the middle of a life transition and questioning everything you thought you knew about yourself.
I offer a warm, insight-oriented space to explore all of that. My approach is relational, honest and empowering.
Sessions are in-person in London Bridge and Golders Green, or online. Book a free 20-minute introductory call to find out more.
About me
I'm an integrative therapist and registered member of the BACP. I came to counselling after twenty years in music and the arts, and that background shapes everything about how I work. I understand creative life from the inside: the pressure to perform, the question of who you are when the work isn't going well, and what it means to feel like you don't quite fit.
I work with people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, a general sense of being stuck, or navigating something more specific: questions of identity, the pressures of a creative life, or the exhausting effort of feeling like you need to be someone else to be acceptable. Whatever brings you here, you don't need to have it figured out before we begin.
My practice is also deeply rooted in LGBTQ+ affirmative work. As a co-founder of Queer Spaces and through my work with charities Switchboard and London Friend, I've spent much of my professional life building spaces where marginalised identities aren't just tolerated: they're understood from the inside.
I also work with neurodivergent adults, people with ADHD or on the autistic spectrum, who are untangling which parts of themselves are authentically theirs, and which have always been ways of getting by.
I'm a registered member of BACP, and trained at the University of Westminster.
I offer therapy in English and Hebrew. Sessions are available in person at London Bridge and Golders Green, or online.

How I work
What to expect
Much of the work we do together involves moving from self-blame toward understanding, exploring what has happened to you, and discovering who you actually are beneath the adaptations.
As an integrative therapist, I work in a way that fits you. I draw on psychodynamic, person-centred and relational approaches depending on what you need, and I'll follow your pace throughout. I also work with the whole of your experience, including imagery, dreams, and metaphor when those feel relevant. Sometimes the most important things are hard to reach through words alone.
Clients often tell me I help them see things differently: bringing insight and depth, while also offering a grounding presence when things feel overwhelming.
This is a good place to start if you've struggled to open up in therapy before, or if you're not quite sure yet what you need. We begin where you are.
Sessions are 50 minutes long, in person or online. I offer a free 20-minute introductory call before we begin: a chance to ask questions and decide, with no commitment either way.
